empty shells
that greet
and pretend
behind these painted smiles
behind these empty shells
are those
who enjoy gossip
rumor mongering
Each word shattering someone's soul
The slowest
cruelest way
to murder a person
To gossip
to spread rumors
to spread hurt
It takes small pieces of the person's
heart and soul slowly
until that person
they love to gossip about
has nothing left
and when the shell that was left
disappears
people cry
and pretend to wonder why
but inside they smile
at the murder on their hands
they are so proud
is it any wonder
I have built walls tall and thick
is it any wonder I refuse to trust?
